6 TRENDS IN FASHION AND BEAUTY WE LOVE.

1. Past decades we own.

Silhouettes, fabrics and patterns from 50s and 70s are this season's hit. The devil is all in the details: overexposed zippers, wide belts and flowers.

Touch of 50s and getting stuck in 70s ...

2. Florals- Hot Right Now.

For those Spring and Summer outings it is only appropriate to come out all in floral color.  Classic floral dress is a carefully planned decision, cool and feminine. It needs to keep all proportions and balances in check. If high neck dress- we can go shorter, if neck and cleavage are exposed- dress should fall below the knees. For jewelry we go with oversized, heavy earrings.

3. Three for Three Steps to clean Face.

Before any make up gets applied or after it is removed I use Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush with 3-Step Skin Care routine: foaming soap, clarifying lotion and moisturizing gel.

4. Cat Eye Running.

Eye Make UP: The cat eye look comes and goes. This is a rather subtle, lighter version and it works really well with darker tops. Love Tom Ford mascara, I use it for all of my eye make up looks.

5. Everything in Two.

Two piece combos are still in. You can wear high waisted skirts with cropped tops in all shades and colors. They can look very sexy or just plain playful.

6. Shout Out to rag&bone Label.

Smart people make beautiful and interesting things. Marcus Wainwright and David Neville's brand rag & bone specializes in genius, unique modern designs.  Thanks to them the brand is one of the most coveted wearable, prestige clothing labels in today's market.  New face of luxury with New York aesthetic. Made by people for people.

But beautifully constructed things are not anonymous, they don't just come out of nowhere. Without any formal fashion training there was an idea, project and passion that lead to creation of an ideal product. In short, these designers utilize a pure craftsmanship of local manufactures and some of the oldest factories in the country. Their brand image has been built on quality and expert skill. Everything is thought through with downtown sensibility and it is impeccably crafted. That's what I call "trendy."

Checks Checked, From Runway to Street-24/7 Dressing.

A Fashion Page is a laboratory site where I can test my more radical fashion ideas. I post my most original looks or outfits that hopefully will make my readers and followers reexamine how they look at clothes. Today my “checks on denim” look is a reinterpretation of classic military theme, completely nontraditional and right for the street style.

And a special thanks to John Rounds who shot my "checks checked" story and produced most stunning images ever. He is a modern renaissance man and you can take a look at his breathtaking portfolio here. His photos capture the fun, dynamism and beauty of fashion. Can't wait to our next photoshoot! We are also planning on featuring a model next time but can't say more at this time. Also anyone interested in wearing beautiful outfits (put together by me) and having awesome images taken by John for our AFP blog please contact me here.

From Runway to Street -24/7 Dressing.

Today we'll going to cover the veracity of 24/7 dressing as we tackle the issue of looking contemporary at work and stylish on the weekend.

AT WORK

It all comes down to knowing how to interpret the yin and yang of your daily demands into clothes that surely work for you. You really can't go wrong with white cotton-cashmere blend jumper. (below from Proenza Schouler featuring a crew neck, long sleeves, a ribbed knit and an asymmetric hem)

WEEKEND

I'm continuously fascinated by the trendy ways New York uptown women deal with changing their weekend wear.

Layla Leather Waterfall Drape is a wonderful piece to throw over just about anything a dress, sweater or blouse a perfect blazer to wear on your weekends.

AT WORK

My belief is that most of us fall into two types: Those who have a diverse closet for each situation (refined BCBG or Paul Smith suits for Monday through Friday, and casual Majestic long sleeve turtleneck and Cheap and Chic Moschino skinny trousers for Saturday and Sunday), and those who mandate more out of their separates and pair the same Paul Smith blazer with Cheap and Chic Moschino trousers on the weekend and a skirt from Chicwish during the week. I do a little of both.  I love to dress up though and the butterfly pattern that prettifies this cotton parka below is a keynote that Valentino is advocating for the season forward, and I love it juxtaposed against the iconic, down-to-earth silhouette. Or this amazing laser-cut shearling that was applied to a BCBG Max Azaria camel coat in a lattice pattern, so imaginative and fantastic but yet still very classic.

WEEKEND

So sometimes on the weekend I love to dress up in dresses and floppy hats; other times, for a walk in a park with my two adorable munchkins, I wear moto boots, leather jacket and cozy shearling coat over it to stay extra warm in this crazy whether. This Forever New slim leg pant is a clothing essential this season and is a seamless addition to your work wear style as well, and can be easily worn from the office to an evening out.

AT WORK

The chicest women also know that getting a look right doesn't stop with their clothes and basics. How you wear your accessories can be equally important. While I love the new fringe bag trends, you need to decide what works with your style and your lifestyle. This Prada Saffiano Two Zip Lux Tote is a staple to those who want both functionality and chic style.

Nude, beige or creme never goes out. Those colors are perennial, everlasting, infinite and make me feel natural and special. I love to wear nude all over and I indulge in everything womanly. My favorite is the dress of course but I also adore this "shrunken" style blazer (although it is a bit wrinkled from sitting in the car for too long). Flash of gold adds a rich element to this look.

I want to hear from you! Send me pictures of your favorite nude, beige or creme outfit. I would love to include these in my "nude awakenings" hall of fame and feature them in my blog.

MORE NUDES

The strongest coats this season are punched-up classics: a peacoat in brilliant blush (almost nude) at Temperley London from the Winter 2014 collection, is a contemporary take on the classic riding coat.

Nail Polish: Dior, Dress: Temperley London, Headband: Benoit Missolin, Coat: Temperely London, Scarf: Temperley London, Necklace: Dannijo, Clutch: Givenchy, Shoes: Valentino Garavani

The newly minted perennial got a fresh spin in the form of garment dyed jeans at Brunello Cucinelli and urban patchwork at JUNYA WATANABE COMME DES GARÇONS.

From the top clockwise: First Look: Shirt: CHLOÉ, Hat: Albertus Swanepoel, Cardigan: MARY KATRANTZOU, Poncho: J.Crew, Necklace: Annina Vogel, Belt: Hermès, Bag: CHLOÉ, Pants: BRUNELLO CUCINELLI, Shoes: Valentino Garavani. Second Look: Sunglasses: Linda Farrow, Earrings: Dinny Hall, Sweatshirt: Moschino, Jacket: MCQ BY ALEXANDER MCQUEEN, Shoes: JIMMY CHOO, Jeans: JUNYA WATANABE COMME DES GARÇONS, Bag: Aspinal of London, Ring:Dinny Hall

I love when designers play with patterns, textures and colors. Inspired by an 18th century Spanish chasuble, this close-fitting dress from the Temperley London Winter 2014 collection is folkloric in both tint and texture.

Coat: Reiss, Earrings: Oscar de la Renta, Sunglasses: Linda Farrow, Dress: Temperley London, Bracelet: Annoushka, Bag: Stella McCartney, Shoes: Alejandro Ingelmo

Even when dressing down a bit let color be your guide. Here are few playful pieces. Nude fedora hat, blush knit sweater and beige cashmere sweatpants jump-start a super comfy and bold look.

Hat: Mühlbauer, Sweater: Michael Kors, Necklace: Astley Clarke, Sunglasses: Linda Farrow, Eyeshadow Pallette: YSL, Pants: J.crew, Popover: J.Crew, Shoes: Valentino Garavani, Bag: ALEXANDER WANG
