A Fashion Page Gets More Support from The Pros. Plus, Trending Now Floral Midi Skirts, Floral Blazers, Statement Bib Necklaces And More…

Getting back after a long trip, I‘m finding out that it’s not so easy to pick up where you left off. Especially that so much had happened right before I left. We had a fabulous photoshoot session, shot by our brilliant photographer John Rounds.  I am also beyond happy to announce that our team has gained more professional support from a wonderful Makeup Artist and Beauty Consultant Danika Clevenstine who is drop-dead gorgeous and a perfectionist.  Her amazing portfolio can be found on her website at http://www.makeupbydanika.com/.   I am obsessed with her artistry and can’t wait to work with her again.

Lastly the most dramatic change on our blog and I hope I am not committing a fashion blogger cardinal sin but we are going to guest feature model Jamie Klein. We’ve all literally gone loopy for her! At such young age she is beyond professional and amazing to work with. Did I mention how beautiful she is? She reminds me a little bit of a young Catherine Zeta-Jones but there is even more mystery and sultry about Jamie. She will definitely be more appealing to the younger demographic with her girlie a bit hipster slash urban appeal but with a timeless, classic beauty that completes her most definitely unforgettable look.  Big, I mean huge thank you to Teresa Klein, Jamie’s mom who is such a wonderful person to have around. She is Jamie’s greatest support and motivator, obviously doing an incredible job at raising Jamie who is truly a serious professional at the beginning of an amazing fashion career.

When we were shooting Jamie Klein for this blog post, we knew one thing; For a Spring fresh/western look and a girl this beautiful, we could go low-key with hair and makeup. Thanks to our make-up artist Danika Clevenstine’s tricks we got an amazingly fresh and gorgeous face!  I have to mention of course that the day we were shooting turned out to be one of the coldest days in March. So thinking about Spring was a little bit… should I say challenging?  Jamie makes it look seamless though and by just looking at her you’d think it was at least 75 degrees out. So just ignore the snow on the ground and think happy thoughts: sun and blooming flowers.

Speaking of flowers, when it comes to florals this season, there is only one rule- Be Creative! Opt for a denim jacket or denim blouse and layer it over with a biker jacket or a blazer. It is the right balance of mystery and feminity. Fun and flirty. You also can’t go wrong with basic suede boots this season. They are more versatile than you think. Nude matches everything: Wear them with mini- or at-the-knee skirts, or tuck your jeans into them.

Hot Trend Combos

Statement Bib Necklace paired with a Floral Blazer:  this look is about as sexy as it gets.

Print Tank Top  styles go with Nude Ankle Boots  and look great with Loose Cut Jackets or /and Asymmetric Skirts.

I would wear this Leather Fringe Jacket until it would disintegrate, which it probably won’t! The best thing about this piece it looks great with Spring Hot trendy Swing Dresses.

Indulge in the high drama of Spring's romantic evening look. Classic Strapless Overlay Dress with trendy Gold Cuffs.

Do combine Ripped Boyfriend Jeans with Blue Wayfarer Sunglasses. Such a smooth, cool look!

One Red: My Favorite Christmas Looks

This festive season is still not over and wearing red is definitely a way to go if you still have some partying to do.

I hate the idea of Christmas being over. The saddest part is when I see all of the Christmas trees being thrown out onto the curbs and holiday decorations being taken down.  So to keep this wonderful time of the year alive I decided to post some of my favorite holiday outfits. There are several colors which are traditionally associated with Christmas.  Red of course is my favorite and it is the theme of today's post.

Here are just few options I put together. Please leave a comment to let me know what are your favorite holiday outfits.

Nude, beige or creme never goes out. Those colors are perennial, everlasting, infinite and make me feel natural and special. I love to wear nude all over and I indulge in everything womanly. My favorite is the dress of course but I also adore this "shrunken" style blazer (although it is a bit wrinkled from sitting in the car for too long). Flash of gold adds a rich element to this look.

I want to hear from you! Send me pictures of your favorite nude, beige or creme outfit. I would love to include these in my "nude awakenings" hall of fame and feature them in my blog.

MORE NUDES

The strongest coats this season are punched-up classics: a peacoat in brilliant blush (almost nude) at Temperley London from the Winter 2014 collection, is a contemporary take on the classic riding coat.

Nail Polish: Dior, Dress: Temperley London, Headband: Benoit Missolin, Coat: Temperely London, Scarf: Temperley London, Necklace: Dannijo, Clutch: Givenchy, Shoes: Valentino Garavani

The newly minted perennial got a fresh spin in the form of garment dyed jeans at Brunello Cucinelli and urban patchwork at JUNYA WATANABE COMME DES GARÇONS.

From the top clockwise: First Look: Shirt: CHLOÉ, Hat: Albertus Swanepoel, Cardigan: MARY KATRANTZOU, Poncho: J.Crew, Necklace: Annina Vogel, Belt: Hermès, Bag: CHLOÉ, Pants: BRUNELLO CUCINELLI, Shoes: Valentino Garavani. Second Look: Sunglasses: Linda Farrow, Earrings: Dinny Hall, Sweatshirt: Moschino, Jacket: MCQ BY ALEXANDER MCQUEEN, Shoes: JIMMY CHOO, Jeans: JUNYA WATANABE COMME DES GARÇONS, Bag: Aspinal of London, Ring:Dinny Hall

I love when designers play with patterns, textures and colors. Inspired by an 18th century Spanish chasuble, this close-fitting dress from the Temperley London Winter 2014 collection is folkloric in both tint and texture.

Coat: Reiss, Earrings: Oscar de la Renta, Sunglasses: Linda Farrow, Dress: Temperley London, Bracelet: Annoushka, Bag: Stella McCartney, Shoes: Alejandro Ingelmo

Even when dressing down a bit let color be your guide. Here are few playful pieces. Nude fedora hat, blush knit sweater and beige cashmere sweatpants jump-start a super comfy and bold look.

Brilliant Rompers

Scarf:ASOS (old), Blazer: ZofiaDesigns, Necklaces: Anthropologie, Romper: Tabeez, Belt:Express, Tights: Ellen Tracy, Shoes: Rylko, Ring: H&M, Sweater Coat: H&M, Bag: H&M

With your flowery rompers that you wore all summer and want to continue wearing them in the winter, the difference between gutsy glamour and Jerry Springer-guest tacky comes down to....hmm... I guess just the right attitude.

If you are not afraid of color layering, emerald green and cobalt blue can take on a new sophistication.

To tone this outfit down I kept my outwear simple so all of the focus is on the romper.

If still not convinced that wearing rompers in winter can be a lot of fun, here are few other ways you can take what seems dramatic and tone it down. (of course going to the bathroom is a bit challenging but there is nothing in this world that will stop a true Fashionista)

The Art of Making a Fashion Statement

The Look: A.F. Vandervorst Ready to Wear Fall/Winter 2014 Collection. Blazer: A.F Vandervorst, Benie: BSEE, Dress: Bluemarine, Belt: Bottega Venetta, Cuff: Borbonese, Booties: Adriana Pappell, Bag: Gucci

The Look: A.F. Vandervorst Ready to Wear Fall/Winter 2014 Collection. Blazer: A.F Vandervorst, Benie: BSEE, Dress: Bluemarine, Belt: Bottega Venetta, Cuff: Borbonese, Booties: Adriana Pappell, Bag: Gucci

Today, my look is inspired by A.F Vandervorst from Ready to Wear Fall/Winter 2014 Collection.  The collection did not get too many great reviews but I think some of the looks were pretty strong and actually quite gorgeous. Once in a while everyone enjoys an impromptu drink with friends after work or a last minute invite to a dinner party. So when it is time to live, love and laugh a little, it is great to have an outfit that embraces all of that in an elegant, sophisticated but still young ensemble. Pairing this original A.F Vandervorst blacksmith blazer with a Blumarine knee length dress is a great start to a phenomenal night.  If trying to dress similarly to the A.F Vandervorst look, I found these perfect Adriana Pappell Basha booties but pumps or high boots would work with this look as well. I was never so into cuffs or bracelets until I found few exceptional pieces like this Borbonese cuff that I literally want to wear with everything. When I dress up, somehow I feel more confident and there is something magical about wearing a skinny belt, like this Bottega Venetta, with your dress that makes you look extra feminine.  There is not one recipe for style and this look or any other look for that matter can be accessorized with feminine, sophisticated, classy or vintage pieces. I love to look very put-together but not super polished and that’s why I would totally wear a BSEE patterned benie and a Gucci mini zip top crossbody to make my look more cute and trendy.
