Winter Forward

This season's wardrobe (like nautical theme tops and khaki or pencil skirts) looks, and feels, good.

Hat: Alice+Olivia, Sweater: Alice+Olivia, Necklace: Elizabeth Cole, Briefcase: Hearfest, Coat: Moncler, Boots: Aquatalia by Marvin K, Tights: Hue, Skirt: Alexis Mabille, Shirt: Alexandre Vauthier

The pendulum swings back again every winter: Hemlines go down, necklines go up. Pants get warmer and sweaters get thicker. And yet a new color takes its turn at being professed the new black (in the case of this season, black itself.) Fashion's inconsistent taste also applies to accessories- the trick is being able to distinct the truly outstanding ones from those that are just acceptable.  Distinctive trends that have recently emerged: bold purple, burgundy lipstick, slouchy beanie hats, elegant yet edgy chunky necklaces, and soft suede tall boots. Black, white, beige and explosions of red are all positive, glowing colors, especially when combined together. I am always craving anything and everything uplifting, but there's actually a far better reason to try this look: It is just plain pretty.

I am wearing: Beanie Hat: Urban Outfitters, Shirt: Forever21, Sweater: Expreess, Necklace: Vallour, Skirt: H&M, Thights: HUE, Boots: Lucky Penny at Anthropologie

These looks features more earthy tones that work on virtually anyone.

Wild One

Winter dark days are still ahead of us but many women out there embrace it with colors, prints. bold jewelry statements and mini leather skirts.  This is my interpretation of this brand new elegance and effortlessness.

Bag:DVF, Vest: Zara, Cardigan: H&M, Blouse: H&M, Necklace: H&M, Bracelet: Palm Beach, Skirt: IRO, Tights: Hue, Boots: Forever 21, Sunglasses: H&M

There is something appealing and almost irresistible about the "cheap," big, statement necklaces. I just love wearing them with collar, button down blouses and skin tight dresses.  Below is another look that features great oversize necklace by Sam Edelman and super comfortable vest by Stella+Lorenzo.

Necklace: Sam Edelman, Vest: Stella+Lorenzo, Sunglasses: Saint Laurent, Blouse: Spell, Skirt: Sally La Pointe, Bag: Sanctuary, Watch: Shinola, Boots: Raport.

Even the most dramatic looks can still be cozy and have a comfy appeal. In the look below featured are super funky but still girlie Stella McCartney sunglasses that I absolutely adore, cropped, leopard printed Dolce & Gabbana top and an amazing Sam Edelman faux fur vest.

Sunglasses: Stella McCartney, Top: Dolce & Gabbana, Vest: Sam Edelman, Necklace: Jewel Box Station, Bag: Marc by Marc Jackobs, Bracelet: Anndra Neen, Skirt: Adam Lippes, Boots: AKIRA

Another  "I am woman attitude" look.

Black Essentials

The Look: A.L.C FW 2014 Ready to Wear Collection. Coat: A.L.C, Eyewear: Ray-Ban, Turtleneck: A.L.C, Scarf: GPBlue, Pants: A.L.C, Bag: A.L.C, Shoes: Derek Lam 10 Crosby.

The weather outside’s been frightful already! When pallor overtakes radiance, I turn to black parkas or black A.L.C trench coat.  A little shine on the face can be really healthy; here we have shiny Ray-Ban original aviator sunglasses that will brighten your brow bones.  With a glow like this no blush, or bold lip color is necessary instead you can wrap your neck with blue and striped GP Blue knit scarf.  And since one of the best colors for fall is black- black A.L.C turtleneck sweater and A.L.C Terry side snap pants are perfectly appropriate.  To complete our A.L.C F/W 2014 Ready To Wear collection inspired look, I would wear A.L.C clutch in grey and Derek Lam 10 Crosby ankle boots, which are simply glamorous

Another look with black parka, turtleneck and black trousers.

Bag: Chloe, Scarf: Failero Salarti, Shoes: Giuseppe Zanotti, Sunglasses: J.Crew, Coat: J.Crew, Jumper: Sacai, Pants: Schumacher, Necklace: Sia Taylor

Occasionally we talk make up! What do we use to get Adele's look?

Pretty in Pink

My Look: Coat: London Fog, Dress: Originally by Lauren Conrad, redesigned by Zofia Designs, Cardigan: ModCloth, Shoes: Rylko, Eyewear: Cynthia Rowley, Earrings: Rebecca Minkoff, Necklace: DaVonna.

With this romantic, sleek, and sophisticated look I am trying down a new way of “pretty in pink” dressing.

I am completely addicted to trench coats and really love this gorgeous Burberry hooded, taffeta trench coat.

As an alternative I found this super playful Paul Smith color block coat. You can see and shop it here.

This is another great dress that can take you from day to night. You can see details and shop it here.

Bag: Emilie M.

Another Ladylike, "Pretty In Pink" suggestion.

November Wedding

My Look-Jacket: Express, Dress: Forever 21, Clutch: Vintage, Pumps: H&M. Suggested Look- Jacket: French Connection, Necklace: Banana Republic, Dress: Shoshanna, Pumps: Chinese Laundry, Clutch: Banana Republic.

Nothing says November more than faux fur jackets and vests. I am wearing old faux fur cropped jacked from Express but to reverse things color wise I found this beautiful crème French Connection Polar teddy faux fur jacket that I wanted to suggest for this look.  It has this vintage look that I love and the color is very unique.  Fall season may be all about satin, linen and wool but when it comes to wedding fashion, lace sweeps the scene.  I am wearing Forever21 pale pink dress which is very romantic and subtle but it works really well when it is contrasted with a bit oversized faux cropped jacket.  For suggested look I picked this amazing, sleek Shoshanna Lace Dress which is super elegant and sophisticated. There’s one sure way to make an eye-catching entrance:  add some inches to your silhouette with classic pumps! I am wearing H&M suede black pumps but these Chinese Laundry Nala pumps are definitely hot.  Of course let’s not forget about the accessory of them moment: clutches. I am carrying vintage black patent leather clutch (no label) but this lace Banana Republic clutch is gorgeous and it is my fashion’s current obsession.  Also on the special nights like this you want to score with womanly, classic jewelry like Banana Republic delicate Tassel necklace.

Dakota Story

Dakota Fanning, together with her sister Elle Fanning is a style icon that represents ease and effortless.  I am super excited about the release of Emma Thompson’s story of the love triangle between art critic John Ruskin, his wife Effie and the painter Millais titled “Effie Grey” starring Dakota Fanning.  I saw the trailer and definitely want to see it.

Also found this great blog on Tumblr that identifies all of the outfits worn by Dakota or Elle fanning. Really cool if you are a big fan.

Here are some looks inspired by Dakota Fanning’s style:
